  • Acted for a publicly listed gold miner in a Federal Court claim for damages of circa $24 million, in relation to mining project in the Dominican Republic
  • Advised liquidators of company in relation to Federal Court action for misleading and deceptive conduct in the company’s acquisition of a $28 million joint venture interest in a mineral sands mining operation in South Australia.
  • Acted in negligence claims against suppliers of aluminium tubing being used to make conveyer idlers, and against developers and suppliers of nitrite rubber for conveyor belt applications
  • Acted in a $4.6 million Supreme Court contractual variation claim for provision of mining services
  • Acted for both ASX listed and large private companies in the Warden’s Court proceedings relating to expenditure exemption applications and tenement forfeiture proceedings, relating to significant gold and iron ore tenements
  • Acted variously for publically listed mining companies and mining services contractors,  in the prosecution and defence of contractual disputes in the Supreme Court and District Court relating to exploration drilling and mining contracts
  • Acted for a national engineering company in a District Court claim for breach of contract and negligence relating to a subcontract for non-destructive radiography and ultrasonic testing of pipeline welds for the domestic gas pipeline, and a District Court contractual dispute relating to scaffold hire and replacement relating to the refurbishment of a coal-fired power station
  • Acted for a large private company in a Federal Court action for misleading and deceptive conduct in relation to the acquisition of a $5 million methanol plant and associated intellectual property
  • Acted in Supreme Court proceedings for a publicly listed gold explorer in a claim for damages relating to a corporate advisory mandate for an IPO
  • Acted for a gold mining company defending $5.5 million Supreme Court proceedings relating to the supply of mining equipment and a contract for on-site maintenance
  • Acted for a large limestone extraction and processing company in Supreme Court proceedings for breach of contract relating to an agreement to negotiate and enter formal agreements relating to limestone extraction, and a claim of unconsionable conduct under section 20(1) of the Competition and Consumer Act
